The JC PERREAULT group once again decided to call on the Lainco team. We worked on the design and construction of the steel structure of the building containing both a retail store and a distribution center. Completed in a particularly short time frame, this complex represents the Quebec company’s largest building to date.
The building houses a large storage area and a distribution center on the first floor, while levels 2 and 3 house the group’s retail location.
Since it was to be built on liquefiable soil, an eccentric bracing system with a modular ductile segment was used to optimize the architectural concept and simplify the pile foundations while reducing costs. The showroom also presented an interesting challenge to the design and construction teams, with its windowed corner overhang measuring 82’x 40′. A job that the Lainco team completed successfully.
