SOPREMA chose to work with LAINCO again. The group called on us for the design-build of the steel structure of its plant. The project represented Soprema’s first North American extruded polystyrene insulation plant.
Long-span structural trusses were chosen for this design to avoid adding columns to the production space. In addition, self-supporting trusses were added to allow for the installation of skylights. This help allow natural light into the factory space.
This 178,000 sq. ft. energy-efficient facility offers, among other things, an ergonomic production line, abundant windows, several rest areas for workers, warehouses, as well as administrative office space.
