1 Year of Sofab: An Acquisition Driving Our Growth

Sofab devient Lainco

June 1, 2025, was the first anniversary of Sofab joining the Lainco family—an important milestone in our growth journey, validating a strategic decision made two years earlier.

In 2022, we set an ambitious goal: to reach an annual production capacity of 10,000 tonnes. Two years later, goal achieved. In 2024, we brought this vision to life through a major investment of more than $15 million to support our growth and enhance our operations.

This transformation began with the modernization of our Terrebonne facilities, including the addition of a state-of-the-art Ficep unit—central to our production—and the integration of a welding robot to further strengthen efficiency and precision. At the same time, the acquisition of Sofab in Boucherville increased our manufacturing capacity, improved our agility, and reinforced our presence in the industry.

Over the past year, the complementarity between our Terrebonne and Boucherville sites has proven invaluable. One notable example: during the temporary shutdown of our beam line in Terrebonne, close collaboration with the Boucherville team enabled us to meet our commitments without compromising quality or deadlines—a clear demonstration of the strength of our teamwork.

We wish to recognize the exceptional dedication of the teams in both Boucherville and Terrebonne during this pivotal period. Their professionalism, collaboration, and commitment were essential to the success of this transition.

What’s next? The coming years will focus on:

Ongoing optimization of our processes.
Strengthening our market position.
Continuously enhancing the customer experience through our combined expertise.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to building Lainco’s future every day with passion, discipline, and determination. Let’s keep moving forwardtogether.
