Lainco was awarded the design-build mandate for the steel structure of a heavy industrial building expansion for the aeronautics industry. The planned expansion was 175,000 sq. ft. of which about 25,000 sq. ft. is dedicated to improving the office space.
The structure of the building allows for the use of 11 new overhead cranes in the production, shipping, and logistics area. The total weight of the project structure is over 1,200 tons.
As experts in complex projects, we were able to fast-track this job to completion. This means that the project was completed on a considerably optimized and reduced schedule thanks to the close collaboration of each of the building trades.
One of the major challenges of this building was the design of the 65′ x 52′ bays in the production area, integrating overhead cranes suspended under the structure with transfer systems from one bay to another.
